Guernsey – Skipper’s birthday

The number of times we’ve visited St. Peter Port reflects our fondness for this location. City centre location belies the not-so-great shopping but it offers a counter-point to French fare and we always enjoy ourselves here, this time at the (very) shallow end of the marina filling up on Marmite from M&S as the port filled up like a French Atlantic port before a storm – we were rafted four deep on the night before we left for Brittany.

Our discovery of the new skate park up on the hill overlooking the town – by skater son #2’s account the best skate park he’s ever visited – was the proverbial icing on this visit.

Skipper’s birthday was celebrated in traditional fashion (balloons, cake and singing), with his present exactly what is required to make a Dad happy (it doesn’t take much!).
