St Vaast La Hougue
First up, it’s pronounced “Sain Va La Oog” – not “Vast”! After two days in Cherbourg provisioning, bilge cleaning, winch overhauling and le plouc’ing – after I got lost finding Le Pantagruel, our favourite restaurant in Cherbourg, it’s off to … Continue reading
Winch cleaning and Carrefour by tender in Cherbourg
A fast sail with the current from Braye round the Raz de Blanchard into a damp Cherbourg was our last stretch with Secret Agent before they returned across the Channel leaving us to continue on our way by ourselves. Leaving … Continue reading

Terribly important people!
They don’t get fireworks out for just anyone here in Tortola … only for very special visitors. Someone must have heard we were in town. (The display was nicely timed for us to enjoy from the cockpit over our bolognese.)
Back to the BVIs
The urgency of reaching Puerto Rico to cross to the Bahamas meant we’d had to compromise on where we’d cruised in the BVIs. Jost van Dyke and the north of Tortola encompassed most of the spots we’d missed. Now that there’s … Continue reading
Holed!
Not the boat itself, just our (almost new) tender. Lifting it out in preparation for a return from Islas Palominos (&-minitos) to Culebra, Skipper (somehow) managed to allow one of the tender’s inflatable tubes to impact square on to the … Continue reading
